Hope

Ever since my last set-back in early October, God has been speaking to me through many biblical themes. The first was a recurrent theme on God being our Cornerstone. If I am not grounded in Him and He is not the foundation of my trust and faith in Him, then my world will collapse, especially in my inward person. God has been the Cornerstone for me and my son. We are also finding that God is asking us to simply wait on Him, as we still don't have many answers. Today He spoke to us through Hebrews 11:1 - "Faith is being sure of what we HOPE for and certain of what we do not see." We certainly do not see as the world sees: through earthly eyes; but we are seeing that which counts: God, in the midst of adversity. That is how much He has strengthened our faith and we have hope for our 'tomorrows' because of the One who is in total control of each moment of our lives. Elijah was tested when he was asked to go and stay with the widow and her son, promising that He had something special waiting for him. All that Elijah found was a poor widow and her son sharing their last meal, with no hope left but waiting to die. God wanted to build something new out of that which was 'nothing' and HE DID. I may not see any sign of what God is up to, in my current situation but I KNOW that He is working in many fronts to accomplish His will and I WILL be found positioned to do and enjoy the good that He has in store for us.

His footsteps in the sand

There are 2 verses that the Lord has given to me, because I was attacked by the enemy today with his evil plans but, God has promised to turn it around and use it for our good. A brother in the Lord reminded me that it was not my heart that was attacked, it was His heart, because my heart belongs to Him and I am a child of God. He holds me in the palm of His hands - who can snatch me away? I am safe and my future is secure because of His hold on my life, even if I have lost what the world claims as gain. The question is: Lord, where do you want me to go from here? What is your next project for me?
We make choices and I choose not to look back but remember that all I have invested in the past are 'treasures in heaven' because I refused to give in to the wrong but stood up for my faith.
Romans 8:28 -And we know that for those who love God, that is, for those who are called according to his purpose, all things are working together for good.
Psalm 32:8 - “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.”
I am claiming these verses for my tomorrow, a future unknown, at this point. He has promised and He is always faithful. He is watching over you and me and my son. I hope to come back and share how God brings me through. I KNOW He will, because He has promised, and been faithful so many times in the past.

passion to live for Christ

This fall, I am focussing a lot on intercession and passionate love for God. The cry of my heart is to experience an all-consuming friendship with God so He can trust me with His plans. Where do I find Him? In God's Word, for sure. But here's an example: as my son was leaving yesterday, for a Survival w/end camp near Athabasca, I asked him how he was going to spend time with God without his Bible; he told me that he looks up at the stars in the sky, at nights, out in the bush, and finds God in the stars and communes with Him.
HE is the God of the universe. May we find that silence and quietness, away from the noise of this world, and become friends with God!

Ps. 25:14 -"God-friendship is for God-worshipers; They are the ones he confides in."
